The best time to water plants is during early morning before the weather gets hotter when the sun rises. During this time, the usage of water is optimal as the soil can optimally absorb the water as reservoir before the water evaporates due to the heat of the surrounding. It is not advisable to water during late evening or night time as the plant sits in water overnight which provides a favorable condition for fungi to grow. Plant caretakers are also advised to only water the root zone of the plant instead of the foliage of the plant as contact of water with the plant foliage encourages fungal disease to develop on leaves.
Landscape designers play a very important role in selecting plants for landscape design. The mixture of plants with different water requirement in the same area will cause stress to the plants as watering are normally done evenly in the same area. This will cause stress to the plants as both excessive and reduced watering will cause stress to the plant. Plant caretakers should also learn about the plants’ water requirement to keep plant health optimal.
